Devotional of the Week
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
— Lamentations 3:22–23
In a book filled with sorrow and lament, this verse shines like a lighthouse in the fog. The author of Lamentations, likely the prophet Jeremiah, was surrounded by devastation. Jerusalem had fallen. Hope seemed lost. And yet, right in the heart of this pain, he lifts his eyes and declares something astounding: God's love has not run out. His mercy is still flowing.
We often feel overwhelmed by our mistakes, by bad news, or by the weight of responsibilities. It’s easy to think we’ve messed up too much or gone too far. But this verse reminds us of a stunning truth—God's mercies are not recycled or rationed. They are new every single morning.
Every day is a fresh opportunity to experience His grace. Not because we’ve earned it, but because God is faithful, even when we’re not. He’s not tired of us. He hasn’t given up. He meets us with fresh love as surely as the sun rises.
Take a moment today to breathe in this truth:
You are not beyond God's mercy. Today is not beyond His redemption. His love has not run out—and neither has your hope.
